Package Description:

Semaglutide (also known as Ozempic or Wegovy) is an FDA-approved injectable glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) agonist that is administered to help with long-term weight management. It functions by successfully reducing appetite, improving portion control, and decreasing your cravings for food, particularly sweets. This all helps control blood sugar levels which can help lose body fat and help reduce overall weight (and keep it off.) Semaglutide should be used with a reduced calorie meal plan and increased physical activity. What Is Semaglutide?

A very small protein (peptide), Semaglutide triggers metabolic pathways in the body to speed up blood sugar metabolism and suppress hunger. It imitates a hormone called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1). You may have heard of Semaglutide before in the media and popularised by media figures such as Kim and Khloé Kardashian. It has been used to help treat type 2 diabetes under the brand names Ozempic ® and Saxenda®.

Semaglutide is a synthetic glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1 RA) that belongs to a class of antidiabetic agents called incretin mimetics. Incretins are endogenous compounds, including glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), that improve glycemic control once released into the circulation via the gut. Semaglutide subcutaneous injection is used as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in 2017. Semaglutide was FDA-approved for weight reduction under the brand name Wegovy® in June 2021 after more research and investigations revealed that it is also suitable for the purpose of losing weight.

Recommended Usage

Dosing Protocol:

• Dosages are calculated on the injector pen dosing dial. Every 8 clicks (number 8) on the dosage dial is equal to 125mcg and every 16 clicks (number 16) on the dosage dial is equal to 250mcg.
• For best results and to mitigate potential side effects such as nausea, we recommend frequent micro-doses of Semaglutide. For females begin at number 8 on the dosage dial (125mcg) daily either Monday to Friday (5 days weekly) or 7 days per week for the first 14 days.
• For males begin at a range of 8 – 16 on the dosage dial (125mcg – 250mcg) daily, either Monday to Friday (5 days weekly) or 7 days per week for the first 14 days.
•  Semaglutide should be used alongside a balanced diet and regular physical activity for optimal results.

Dosage after 14 Day Biological Adaption Phase:

• The first 14 days of Semaglutide dosing is a period of time to allow your body to adapt to producing more GLP-1 in the stomach and pancreas and the effect this has on your body. Dosages can be increased to reach the desired effect slowly over-time, for example females may increase their daily dosage to number 12 on the dosage dial (187.5mcg) while allowing at least 3 days on a new dosage to gauge tolerance and effect. Females should not require more than number 16 on the dosage dial daily (250mcg) and males should not require more than number 24 daily (375mcg), unless specified by your healthcare provider.

Maintenance Dosage:

• Once you have found your desired daily dosage maintain this for a period of up to 3 months before taking a 3-5 week break to maintain receptor sensitivity to the compound.

Higher Dosages (if required):

• Higher dosages than the ones recommended above in some circumstances may be relevant. Please check with your healthcare provider on which dosage range is acceptable for your goals and health.
• Always consult a healthcare provider before making adjustments.

Charging the Pen

Remove the dosage pen from the box and take off the white pen lid. Next, screw on the needle tip and remove the larger protection cap. Finally, remove the smaller needle tip protection cover exposing the actual needle tip.

Now you will remove all the air from the vial so your first dosage is the actual compound: Holding the dosage pen upright (tip toward the ceiling) – Unwind the dosage dial to number 20. Slowly depress the dial stopping only when a single drop of liquid comes out of the needle tip. Repeat this process of unwinding the dial and depressing until 1 or 2 drops of liquid are expressed. The pen is now charged and ready for dosage. This process only needs to be completed once per pen.

Wind (do not depress) the dial back to zero (0). You are now ready to use the pen.

Dosage

Dial your dosage by unwinding the dosage dial to the number you are using for your dosage (see below).

Place rubbing alcohol on the skin of the injection site. Insert the needle tip into the skin and slowly depress the dosage dial. Keep the needle tip in for an extra 30 seconds after dosing to absorb any droplets of the compound still exiting. Place the small needle tip plastic protection cover on, then finally replace the white pen lid and place the unit back into cold storage.

Storage

• Store in the refrigerator between 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F).
